Williamsport Bell Tower Restoration
Repointing
The church members called in need of assistance after noticing mortar falling to the street from the top of the bell tower. JMR went out and performed a complete repointing job on the bell tower from top to bottom to ensure the structual integrity of the tower and safety of those walking by for years to come.
Parapet Stabilization
The coping stones at the top of the bell tower were in danger of becoming loose. JMR used a 120 foot man lift to reach the very top of the bell tower to stabilize the stones.
Duncannon Church Restoration
Over time, even the most beautiful historic buildings start to show their age — and the Christ Reformed Church in Duncannon church was no exception. Years of weather exposure had left the brickwork worn and the mortar joints deteriorating, and needed help remediating the water leakage through the brick at the front and side walls and chimney of the church. Our seasoned masonry team carefully repoint the areas in question to stop the water penetration. repointed the entire side wall, restoring both the strength and the classic beauty of the brickwork so the church can continue standing proud for years to come.
East Berlin Farmhouse
Our client reached out to us right before Thanksgiving requesting a quote to fully restore his historic farmhouse right outside downtown East Berlin. JMR provided a quote that pleased the homeowner and began work the Monday before thanksgiving. The project included repointing the home 100%, replacing over 100 damaged brick with reclaimed brick to match the existing and rebuilding a portion of the chimney. We also removed an unused antenna and solar dish at the owners request. The entire project was completed and cleaned up before Christmas. The homeowners expectations were exceeded!
Historic Home Restoration in Annville
This stately historic home in Annville was ready for a refresh from top to bottom. We repointed the brickwork across the entire house, rebuilt the classic brick pillars at the front, and installed a custom bluestone walkway framed with a brick border. Every detail was completed with care to honor the home’s character, resulting in a timeless, polished entryway that’s as durable as it is beautiful.
1880’s Mechanicsburg Homestead
This charming 1880’s homestead had plenty of character — but also plenty of wear and deterioration from more than a century of Pennsylvania weather. The original retaining wall was failing, sections of brickwork needed repointing, and the stone walkway had seen better days. Our crew demoed and rebuilt the retaining wall, landing, and steps from the ground up with concrete block, installed stone veneer over the wall block and tuck pointed the joints, and added bluestone for the steps and caps that we got from a quarry in Nichols, PA, giving this historic property a renewed foundation and a beautiful, lasting finish.
Carlisle Flagstone Repair
JMR Masonry carefully reset all loose and broken stones, ensuring each piece was properly secured to restore the original strength and appearance of the structure. Our skilled team then repaired the mortar joints to match the historic character of the property. After the masonry work was completed, we thoroughly cleaned the stonework to remove years of buildup and staining, revealing the natural beauty of the material. Finally, we cleaned and repaired the surrounding concrete border, providing a crisp, finished look that complemented the restored masonry and enhanced the overall curb appeal of the property.
